Healing from heartbreak is a process. It is a non-ending process. Healing from a broken heart is very painful and very challenging to the mental health of the individual. The healing process is elongated by the fact that everywhere you go you will see the cause of the pain. As compared to a physical burn or a cut, where you are certain that the fire that burnt you is completely off, healing from heartbreak takes long as you keep interacting with the cause.
“He heals the broken-hearted and binds up their wounds. No matter the source of your heartbreak, God can repair your wounds.
Sipping coffee with my friend
She was my mom friend. We leaned on each other in the journey of parenting. We sat and shared our teenage motherhood stories. For more than half her number of years, she saw herself curled up at the corner of her bed every night, crying until her tears ran dry. Her mind has wondered and her heart has pumped as fast as it could. She did not know if there was a wayward or backward.
She found herself in a place called the middle. A place where there is too much chaos in a mind, a place of uncertainty, a place of loneliness.
That was a time she did not know how to pray to ask God to change the situation. My friend did not know how and what to hope for. My friend needed hope and courage, yes many times she says she heard her grandmother praying, but I just did not connect at all.
As we are going for our second cup of coffee, she continues to narrate the story of her life. She did not know that she was heartbroken until she started to connect with God.
Growing up with an absent father in her life has left a wound that needed to heal
Growing up with a partly present mother has left a wound that needed to heal
Being bullied at school has left a wound that needed healing
Becoming a teenage mother has left a wound that needed closure to heal and become a scar. Raising a baby that the father was not available has bruised her. The shame of dropping out of school has bruised her. She is bruised. She needed healing of the wounds.
By connecting to God she began to realize that she is really bruised. Healing is needed for these wounds and bruises so they become scars that she wear with pride as walking along the journey of becoming their mum.
Isaiah 43 v 18
“Forget the former things, do not dwell on the past”
She pleaded and prayed with God asking Him to change her heart and change the situation. There can be no healing without God and without God there is no healing of the heart. For physical wounds to heal you need to see a specialist that deals with burns and cuts. The wound will be cleaned applied ointments and covered to allow the healing of the wound. Depending on the kind of wound the time of healing can be speculated. The same principle also applies to an emotional wound, a wound in the heart. Because God is God of hearts, he will be the specialist of such a wound and in order to heal from a broken heart, you need GOD. It goes without saying.
Her situation may not have changed but she has and that’s why she managed to share her journey to empower others
All she ever wants us to know is how God is able to take a broken heart and piece it back together with His grace, mercy, and love. How He can remove your life-long fears, grant them strength, and increase your faith.
The transformation in her life didn’t happen in one miraculous moment; it’s been years of growth. GOD uses His WORD to correct the frustrating uses in our lives. Here are some few promises that God can use to mend a messy heartbroken life

Few Words that God Uses to Heal the Heartbroken
1. GOD LOOKS FOR THOSE WHO ARE HEARTBROKEN AND LOST
If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them wanders away, what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety-nine others on the hills and go out to search for the one that is lost? And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he will rejoice over it more than over the ninety-nine that didn’t wander away!
For many years we try to live our lives afraid of disappointing the people we leave with as well as trying too hard not to disappoint God. We try too hard to juggle all parts of our lives on our own until we even fail ourselves and hit the hardest in our hearts. We expect too much that even our own expectations hurt us. Up until you realize how easy to carry the Yoke of GOD, to carry the cross is much easier than carrying all our lives on our own. Surrendering to God and He will carry us to His word
2. GOD WANTS THE HEARTBROKEN TO SURRENDER TO HIM
John 11 v 21-32
Then Mary came to Jesus and saw Him, she fell down at his feet, saying to Him, “Lord if you have been here, my brother would not have died”
Mary came to Jesus with a spirit of surrender. She laid down her life before Jesus so He can heal their pain after losing Lazarus their brother. We see Mary recognizing the presence of LORD. What I began to learn was that the more I completely surrendered myself to the Lord the more intentionally He gave me everything I needed.
As for God, His way is perfect! The word of the Lord is tested and tried; He is a shield to all those who take refuge and put their trust in Him. (Psalm 18:30 (AMPC)
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16)
And God used the TRUTH of His inspired Word in an interesting way.
3. GOD FORGIVES THOSE WHO COME TO HIM IN REPENTANCE
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
it is important to carry all our brokenness, failures, and weaknesses and iniquities to Jesus and ask Him to heal and forgive us, He will grant us healing.
The WORD of God says that when we carry the heavy burden of our sin to Jesus and ask Him to forgive us and change us. The more we rely on God’s Word the more we get humbled, ashamed, and repentant.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive, so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help. (Psalm 86:5)?
If the Son sets you free, you are truly free. (John 8:36)
4. GOD REPLACES FEAR WITH COURAGE
(Isaiah 41 v 10)So do not fear for I am with you. Do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous hand. In all our trials and tribulations of parenting life, we will never walk alone. God is always with us
5. God grants us peace
(John 14v 27) Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hears troubled and do not be afraid.
6. God eliminates anxiety
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus
2 Corinthians 4:8-10
“We are hard-pressed on every side, but not crushed, perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.”
7. GOD STRENGTHENS THE HEARTBROKEN WITH HIS PROMISES
God promises are yes and Amen. His promises bring healing in our life. He strengthens us with His.
Here are some of God promises that strengthen me:
My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; He is mine forever. (Psalm 73:26).
God has been the strength of my heart. His presence has given me everything I need each day.
You guide me with your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny. Who have I in heaven but you? I desire you more than anything on earth. (Psalm 73:24–25)
If you’re struggling today with a broken heart learn more of God’s promises and hold close.
“My grace is enough; it’s all you need. My strength comes into its own in your weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9–10).
Start to shift focus on the challenges and began appreciating the promises of God. Take limitations in stride, and with good cheer, these limitations that cut me down to size—abuse, accidents, opposition, bad breaks. I just let Christ take over! And so the weaker you get, the stronger you become.
In the parenting journey please not it’s important to surrender fears and frustrations, brokenness and battles, weaknesses and worries, losses and longings to Jesus
make sure to live free of the things I’ve surrendered to Him and free to enjoy the blessings He wants me to have!
He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what He has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord. (Psalm 40:3)
I want you to know what God has done for me. I want you to be amazed by His love and grace and mercy. And more than anything, I want you to put your trust in the Lord!
God has the power to erase all life-long fears and give out everything that is needed to live.it is important to surrender to His loving care with freedom, peace, and joy believing with all my heart that He not only can but He will do that for you as well.
It is the prayer of my heart today that God will bless you and fill you with the transforming power of His perfect love!
